Nyack has been a designated NYSERDA Clean Energy Community since 2019 and is now on track to reach 9000 points and the 5-star level this summer. So far the Village has been awarded $400,000 in grants from the program for clean energy projects, including new electric vehicles for the Village fleet, heat pumps and efficiency upgrades for the Department of Public Works. New solar installations are planned for municipally-owned properties.

If the Village can complete several more high impact actions before the funding levels drop at the end of September, an additional $400,000 in grants will fund major upgrades for Nyack Village Hall.
